TREATMENT METHODS

Manual Therapy

Hands-on treatment that includes myofascial release, joint mobilisation, muscle release and neural tissue release.

Strapping

Rigid or kinesio taping may be provided for muscle and joint support.

Dry Needling

Releases myofascial trigger points.

Rehabilitation

Prescriptive exercise that may include stretching, strengthening and balancing.

Biomechanical Correction

Correction of exercise techniques and reducing compensatory movements.

Ergonomics

Helping you correct your posture whether your days are sedentary or active.

Muscle Activation

These are a series of release techniques that allow strength with movement. Douglas Heel presents the techniques in the BeActivated course.

Manual lymph drainage

Based on Carolyn Hoffman's techniques, this includes a gentle massage over the skin to enable lymph drainage.

 

ABOUT THE PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Bhakti Lala is a registered member of the Health Professions Council of South Africa and the South African Society of Physiotherapy. She graduated from the University of Witwatersrand in 2011 and completed her coursework Masters in Physiotherapy in 2017.

She spent several years working in various hospitals in Gauteng, treating patients with orthopaedic, neurological and medical conditions. Thereafter, she joined various outpatient practices, treating neuromuscular and skeletal injuries in sedentary and sporting individuals.

During her working career, Bhakti has assisted at cricket games, water polo festivals, University Sports SA Games and the 94.7 Cycle Challenge. She has a keen interest and participates in cycling, running and Indian classical dance.

 

ABOUT THE PRACTICE

Bodylogic is situated on 52 River Road, Woodmead. It is in close proximity to the eToll building on Rivonia Road.

Appointments are 45 minutes each.

Medical aid claims are submitted to Discovery and Medscheme at medical aid rates.
